Who will I actually see and what are your qualifications?:
I am currently the sole practitioner. I don't delegate any aspect of your treatment or psychological testing.
My education includes degrees from the University of Colorado - Boulder, Baylor University and Fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center.
I have provided psychological services in outpatient settings, inpatient units, medical inpatient units, day treatment, public and private schools, and in community-based programs (including home-visitation services and urgent response services with police officers).
I have been a licensed psychologist in Colorado since 2001.
In brief: I grew up in Boulder and attended Fairview High School where I enjoyed the academics and the athletic programs. I've experienced many struggles, medical and personal, which help me to really understand where you are coming from and what your up against. After high-school, I followed many paths until finally settling in at the University of Colorado and majoring in psychology. During school I worked as an after-school teacher and a respite-care provider for children who were returning from psychiatric hospitalizaiton. I later worked in adolescent drug treatment for a time before heading to graduate school in Texas and then Connecticut. After which, I settled with my wife in in the south-west corner of the Denver Metro area. I am still active in sports and love to do just about anything in nature.
I often hear parents ask, "Do you really know what it's like with kids?" or "Are you a parent?" Yes. I have a son and a daughter that bring me joy, daily, and keep me humble about the challenges of parenting.
